Abongile is a graduate in Bachelor of Education with majors in mathematics, science and languages at University of the Western Cape. Grew up in Cape Town in Site C, fell in love with math in primary school. He believes every child deserves good education. We learn math not only to pursuit our career but to understand what is happening around our society.
Ayongezwa Ndamase

Ayongezwa currently studies dietetics at UWC and is considering doing PGCE at UNISA when he graduates. He always enjoyed assisting learners with maths and has a personality that makes it easy for learners to approach and learn. The one thing that he appreciates most is witnessing the joy that a learner gets when they finally understand the topic. He appreciates Numeric as he has learnt new approaches every day to enrich his teaching and effectiveness.
Azola Jacobs

Azola is a second-year LLB Law student at the University of the Western Cape. He has always been taught and reminded of the importance of education. He wants to give back and instill the same values to his learners. He enjoys working with children and understands the difficulties that children face in Mathematics and that is why he joined Numeric to give back.
Bongiwe Havi

Bongiwe is a final year Bachelor of Science student at UCT, pursuing Oceanography and Environmental Science. For her, it has been a privilege to have been part of Promaths and SAEP which are programmes similar to Numeric. Her first-hand experience has been an encouragement to possibly inspire two or more learners to dream beyond any circumstance. Above all, her dream is to see polar lights (aurora)
Bridgette Mgidi

Bridgette is a passionate young woman who dreams of changing the world and believes that even the smallest of efforts can make the biggest difference in the life of another. She is a big fan of music and food and a visual artist with a highly active imagination. She is a perfectionist and likes to do things whole-heartedly.
Dumisani Ben

Dumisani was born and bred in Khayelitsha, where he did his primary and secondary school. He is currently doing a Bachelor of Social Science (majoring in Psychology, Sociology and Gender Studies) at the University of Cape Town. He is a humble soul, might seem shy but can be noisy when he gets familiar with someone. He loves helping people, especially children who are in need, who also happen to be where he was once in life. Giving back to the community, putting smiles on other people's faces and changing lives is what made him join Numeric
Elam Seku

Elam believes that the beautiful thing about giving back to the community is that no one can take it from you. Elam hails from a dusty village in the Eastern Cape. She is currently studying BCom Economics and Finance at UCT. She believes that "every child deserves a champion- an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best they can possibly be" and strives to not only fill the pail but to light the fire inside her learners.
Frans Shiburi

Frans was born and bred in Mokopane in the province of Limpopo. He is a 3rd year Education student at Cape Peninsula University of Technology, majoring in mathematics and Physics. He believes that he was created and predestined to be a teacher. He is a leader of the pack, visionary, a disciplined, principled, self-confident and a hardworking young man; for he believes that nothing great is ever accomplished without hard work. His life’s purpose is to make the world better for he believes that he is an asset in the balance sheet of this world.

Joel is a 2nd year Psychology student at Cornerstone Institute. He was born and raised in Cape Town. Joel is passionate about things associated with the mind and is determined to help people tackle their limiting beliefs after he has tackled his own. He believes in education and having high standards are important. He coaches for Numeric because he and the organisation share common goals. He enjoys good music, poetry and visits to the local gym.
Kelsey Muller

Kelsey is currently in her 2nd year, studying Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture at the University of Western Cape. She has decided to coach for Numeric, because it makes her feel like she is actually making a difference in the lives of the young children in the community. She attended a school in Mitchell's Plain and she saw first-hand how learners struggle with Mathematics when they do not have the proper foundation set for them.
Khanyisa Tsolo

Khanyisa is a 2nd year Marine Science student at CPUT. She’s a very loving, kind, and hardworking young woman. She loves helping others and strongly believes in the quote that "One of the greatest things that one can do to help others, is to help them discover what key they have within themselves, to help themselves". Letele is from Lesotho and currently doing 3rd year at CPUT in Mathematical Technology. He is excited to be a Numeric coach and what excites him mostly are the learners he coaches, because they are learning mathematics concepts hile having fun.

Lindile is a very determined and diligent individual who takes pride in what he's doing. He fell in love with mathematics from a young age. Unequivocally, this love and enthusiasm for maths has led him to choose to make a difference in our townships. I believe every child deserves to be granted an opportunity to get a good education regardless of their circumstances.
Mandlenkosi Mngomezulu

Mandlenkosi is a passionate aspiring teacher who was inspired by his high school teachers. He was interested to become a Maths teacher in 2005 when he was doing grade 7. During his spare time he plays soccer and surfs the internet.

Masixole, also known as Max, is a third year Bachelor of Education student at the University of the Western Cape, majoring in Languages. He is well-organized, hardworking, determined and keen to contribute to the development of his community and his country. His love for Maths cannot be measured. Noluthando is studying Education at UWC majoring in Maths and Science. She would not be doing education if it was not for her middle school teacher who helped her discover that anyone can be good at Maths. This is the reason she loves being a Numeric coach, because it gives her the opportunity to help the kids discover that even they can be good at Maths. She enjoys jogging, going to the beach and having ice cream.

Phelokazi was born in Bizana, a small town in the Eastern Cape. She is a determined person who loves both children and has a burning desire for teaching. She is dedicated to challenging the misconceptions in Mathematics because she believes that Maths is fun as long as the more one does and sees, the more one will be able to do. Although she seems quiet, she is very approachable and easy to talk to. She is motivated by making a difference in the community and spreading light by being the candle or the mirror that reflects it.

Shantell is currently doing her final year in B.Com Accounting at UCT. She enjoys poetry and art, and staring out into the beauty of nature and creation. Simamkele is fun and bubbly person. Second year student at UCT in Bachelor of Social Science majoring in psychology and Gender Studies. One of the greatest life lessons she learnt in psychology is that attitude influences behaviour. Her goal is to change the negative mind set towards mathematics by equipping the learners with mathematics skills and transferring the passion l have for mathematics to the learners so that they can also believe that maths is fun and easy and develop love for it.

Siyamanga is a UCT student majoring in Chemistry and Statistics. She was born in the Western Cape, but was raised by her grandparents in the Eastern Cape where she attended her primary school. She believes in giving back to the society driven by the spirit of Ubuntu which she was taught by her grandparents. She has done so by volunteering in a few organizations before numeric. Sharing her love for Maths by being a coach is one way of giving back. She is caring, respectful and willing to learn to improve her skills

Vuyiseka was born and raised in Eastern Cape in a very lovable town called Port St Johns. She loves gospel music more than any other genres. She believes that life is good if you do your best and let God do the rest. Golden Rule is her motto: Treat others the way you want to be treated. She loves mathematics, spending time helping a child with math homework is not a waste of time, it is an investment. Making mathematics fun and interesting is a game she loves to play.
